I was cruising Pinterest and found a blog post called The psychology of decluttering: Conquering your decluttering paralysis. The article is reminiscing of a post I made a while back called Question to help you Declutter.
Some to the reasons Jenn, the author of the article, gives for decluttering paralysis are:
- The desire for perfection and the Pinterest effect
- The item represents something that you wish you could be
- Emotional attachment
- I might need it/want it someday
- I am just waiting until…
- Lack of time and energy
I would highly recommend taking 5 or so minutes to read Jenn’s blog post to delve deeper into any of the types of paralysis you might have.
