The Psychology of Decluttering

I was cruising Pinterest and found a blog post called The psychology of decluttering: Conquering your decluttering paralysis. The article is reminiscing of a post I made a while back called Question to help you Declutter.

Some to the reasons Jenn, the author of the article, gives for decluttering paralysis are:

  1. Guilt
  2. The desire for perfection and the Pinterest effect
  3. The item represents something that you wish you could be
  4. Emotional attachment
  5. I might need it/want it someday
  6. I am just waiting until…
  7. Lack of time and energy

I would highly recommend taking 5 or so minutes to read Jenn’s blog post to delve deeper into any of the types of paralysis you might have.
